This imaginatively converted former Methodist chapel lies in the heart of an award winning village in the sheltered South Hams. Within yards is a delightful inn/restaurant with alfresco dining and its own brewery. There is also a shop/P.O., second pub and children's playground. Sandy beaches at Mothecombe (footpath access) and Erme estuary are about a mile, whilst award winning beaches, including Bigbury-on-Sea and Thurlestone, are an easy drive. Nearby are the pretty twin villages of Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers. Inland, Ivybridge – gateway to dramatic Dartmoor – has an indoor pool and sports centre, and the lovely Georgian town of Modbury is a gem for antiques hunters (both about 5 miles). Plymouth's National Aquarium, Saltram House (N.T.), historic Totnes, Dartmouth, Salcombe and boat hire and quayside markets at Kingsbridge offer good days out. Miles of scenic coastal and estuary footpaths and cycle trails beckon. Children will also enjoy Sorley Tunnel, Woodlands Adventure Park and Pennywell Farm.
