bedroom Peak District holiday cottage
This luxurious cottage is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the Peak District National Park.
It is located in the beautiful Manifold Valley adjacent to Dovedale in an area of lush, tranquil dales and wild romantic highlands. Relax and unwind in this wonderful peaceful setting.
Accommodation
Converted with skill and flair from 18th century farm buildings, this cottage is double glazed and centrally heated, making it ideally suited for both winter and summer breaks.
This lovely, detached cottage with timber beams has a delightful gallery bedroom featuring a double bed. It also contains a hall, farmhouse-style fitted kitchen/dining room, a pretty twin bedded room, which can be made into a king size double bed by arrangement, a bunk bedded room )suitable for adults or children), a bathroom/WC (with shower over bath) and a magnificent sitting room with beamed ceiling.
Attractions
Spectacular countryside is crisscrossed with paths and bridleways giving opportunities to explore both on foot or horseback. The Manifold Trail, which has easy access for push-chairs and wheelchair users, offers excellent cycling. Fishing, pony trekking, hang gliding and cycle hire are all available locally. Dovedale (National Trust) is a must for all walkers.
There are lots of pretty villages to explore with fine pubs, shops and restaurants. Hartington with its popular craft fairs and tea rooms, is approximately 3 miles. The market towns of Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne and Leek (10 miles) are a must for all antique hunters and there are many National Trust properties in the area. Within 15 miles there is much to see including Alton Towers, Chatsworth and Matlock Bath. Visits to Wedgwood and Royal Doulton are easily arranged and the 'Potteries' has cinemas, factory shops and many family attractions such as Waterworld. Sailing and windsurfing enthusiasts should try the RYA approved facilities at Carsington.
Other nearby attractions include Churnet Valley Steam Railway, Jodrel Bank Radio Telescope and Planetarium and the National Tramway Museum at Crich.
