Owl Cottage is an enchanting 17th Century stone cottage nestling in the heart of the beautiful and renowned Blackmore Vale. Retaining many original features, it is a delightful holiday retreat at any time of year. It is family friendly while at the same time being cozy and intimate enough for a romantic break in the country. And what country! With the famous market town of Shaftesbury just down the road and many of Dorset's treasures within easy reach, you can be assured there is always something new to do or see.
A fully modern kitchen has been carefully blended in with the ancient stones and timbers. The original inglenook fireplace is the major feature of the sitting room and it still incorporates a 300 year old bread oven. The sitting room incorporates a double sofa-bed. The upstairs holds the master bedroom, adjacent bathroom and a second double bedroom with extra single bed. Outside, there is a fully equipped Romany Caravan, for use by children of visitors to Owl Cottage. It is also available for a romantic break for adults at £35 per night, or £60 for 2 nights or £85 for between 3-7 nights. Made in the traditional fashion from wood and stretched canvas, it is both comfortable and spacious. The 6'3" bed pulls out to 'Double' size and has ample storage space underneath. Additional features include an original wood-burning stove, fully equipped kitchen with glass-fronted cabinets and table. Guests can arrive from 6pm on their day of arrival.
