In the Blackdown Hills' tranquil Culm Valley, Mow Barton is one of two interesting properties set in the medieval remains of Hemyock Castle, within easy reach of Exmoor and Dartmoor as well as north coast surfing beaches and south coast resorts. Honiton, renowned for lace making and antiques, and the pleasant county town of Taunton are about 11 miles whilst elegant Sidmouth, the famous Cobb at Lyme Regis, and Branscombe, a beautiful village of thatched cottages, are all an easy drive. Riding and coarse/fly fishing are found locally and Wellington's fine sports facilities and shopping are 3 miles. Hemyock has two good shops, a pub/restaurant, café/takeaway and tennis club offering temporary membership.
