Nestling peacefully amidst beautiful countryside and farmland, just 4 miles from the spectacular north coast and its miles of golden beaches, are the five cottages at Oak Ridge Farm. Four of the cottages have been sympathetically converted from a stone built granary and its courtyard, whilst the fifth is a studio apartment with its own private patio, adjoining the owners' nearby farmhouse. All the cottages enjoy use of the one acre gardens, which include a large play area for children and a games barn. This is a wonderful spot for a relaxing holiday or for exploring both coastal and inland attractions, and there are numerous delightful inns and restaurants nearby.

 

There is excellent walking along the footpaths of the magnificent craggy coastline, and inland the countryside of open moorland is steeped in Cornish history and dotted with ancient standing stones. Atlantic rollers make Newquay (6 miles) the surfing capital, its beaches sheltered by spectacular cliffs and headlands. A wide range of entertainments is on offer here from crazy golf, a zoo, boating lake, 10 pin bowling, and shark fishing, to lively nightlife. Just 4 miles away Perranporth, a popular family resort with miles of golden sands, a mecca for swimmers and surfers offers riding and golf, and St Piran's Round, an Iron Age fort which lies just east of the town. The cathedral city of Truro lies just 6 miles away, with its cafés, pannier market and specialist quarter providing interesting shopping. Many National Trust houses and gardens can be found within a short drive and some of Cornwall's most famous gardens lie within easy reach – the amazing Eden Project is only 20 miles away and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, near Mevagissey, are 15 miles.

 

The village of Goonhavern (1¼ miles) has a shop, pub, and a large garden centre, and there is coarse fishing available just 400 yards away. Set in lovely surroundings, in an area rich in activities and interest, the cosy and comfortable cottages at Oak Ridge Farm are the perfect choice for a Cornish holiday.
