Coastguard Cottage sits on Daddyhole Plain, a local beauty spot overlooking Torbay, it is a large open area overlooking Torbay, it is a large open area ideal for ball games and kite flying etc. Torquay's most famous daughter, author Agatha Christie, spent endless summers swimming at Meadfoot Beach and exploring 'Rock End', the cliffside walk linking Daddyhole Plain to the imposing 'London Bridge', a natural rock arch jutting out to sea, and the picturesque harbour of Torquay. There are numerous attractions nearby including the steam train to Dartmouth, Paignton Zoo, Babbacombe Model Village and the Quaywest Centre. This cottage (salmon pink in photograph) has been recently refurbished with no expense spared with a new large farmhouse style kitchen-breakfast room complete with a belfast sink, granite worktops, washing machine and ruby red aga gas cooker. There is a new contemporary bathroom with state of the art double basin sink, double person power shower and a very deep bath. This is located downstairs, which can be useful for people with walking difficulties. There is a large lounge with feature fire place and French doors onto the patio and Daddyhole Plain. This is a two bedroom period cottage with a twin bedroom overlooking the town and a very large double bedroom overlooking Daddyhole Plain and the bay. With the use of the sofa bed in the lounge it sleeps 6 people. There is parking at the front of the cottage for one car and additional space in the car park 100 yds. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars in Torquay and Wellswood (approx ½ mile).
