Two bedroom Lot Valley holiday cottage

This French holiday cottage is situated in the Lot Valley in the village of Ambeyrac, which is 18km south west of Figeac.  It takes 80 minutes to drive to the Auvergne ski resorts.  Tastefully restored, this traditional stone cottage nestles on the side of the hill. Tranquil views overlooking the Lot Valley include the ancient 12th century Chateau, Larroque Toirac, and the pretty stone village of Ambeyrac. From the patios, you can enjoy the sunny southerly aspect and the magnificent views to the west. Barbeque and patio furniture are provided.

Accommodation includes 2 double bedrooms and bathroom (incl. bath) with exposed beams and stonework throughout. Downstairs is open plan with a spacious lounge, full length window looking out to the patio, log burner and electric radiator (ideal for cozy autumn/winter breaks). The hand built kitchen/dining room has a large south facing window. 

From the house you can walk directly up the gravel lane that meanders up to the high causes with tracks leading off in all directions or down through the village, through the fields of maize and tobacco on the valley floor, to the river. For your use, running under the house we have a full length, lockable 'cave' available for storage purposes for your bikes, prams, canoes etc.

The village has a small, well-stocked local shop providing fresh bread (opens daily) and a friendly local bar/hotel with outside terraces serving delicious food at reasonable prices.  For greater shopping needs a supermarket can be found in the small riverside market town of Cajarc, which is 10 minutes drive from here, along with a selection of other shops, bars, restaurants, cafés and boulangeries - for this trip you can either get there following the river or take the even more impressive option via 'Saut de la Mounine' (monkeys jump) which is a stunning view point of the valley.  We also have 'La Licorne' just across the river where you can either eat in sitting out on the terrace under the shade of their parasols or buy pizza to take out!
