Judy, widow of
the Hon. Michael Astor, began converting holiday cottages in the Cotswolds
in 1992, bringing to the task thoughtfulness, imagination and a passion
for design. In the interiors of the cottages, in the gardens, and in the

the guests experience and point of view in mind. From the overall
conception to the tiniest detail, everything has been planned, considered
and beautifully executed with this purpose.
These holiday cottages are for people who mind about their surroundings,

their standards on holiday. When she designed them, Judy's criterion was
that the holiday cottages should be places in which she would like to live
permanently, and our guests clearly agree, since they tell us that they

the holiday cottage, tired after a long journey, to find the lights on,
fire ready, a beautifully laid tea tray with a cake waiting on the table,
a bottle of champagne in the fridge, and the candles just waiting for a
match.
